Meet Chancey, a vibrant 76-year-old participant in our 40 Over 40 Project, who embodies the essence of embracing every stage of life with grace and enthusiasm. Chancey joined this project with a powerful message for women: Age is not something to fear—it's a part of who you are, and that makes you magnificent!

For Chancey, this photo shoot was a celebration of herself, a way to honor her journey and look forward to what’s next. When asked to describe her current outlook on life, Chancey chose "forward-looking." She believes that while it's essential to honor the past, it’s equally important to focus on what lies ahead. Her philosophy is simple yet profound: "What are you planning to do next?"

Chancey’s father played a pivotal role in shaping the woman she is today. Raised in a traditional Italian family where women were often seen as having a designated role, Chancey broke the mold as the first girl in her family to attend college. Her father, who insisted on the importance of education, was her biggest supporter, and his pride in her achievements motivated her to strive for more every day.

With a mind that’s both analytical and creative, Chancey’s love for science, math, and music keeps her life fun and full of discovery. And her secret to beauty? A big, genuine smile.

Chancey’s optimism and joy are qualities she cherishes most about herself. If she could offer advice to her younger self, she’d say, "You are so shy but have so much to offer. Come on out and play. The water’s fine."

Her most valuable life lesson? "No matter what happens, it will be alright. Just find the next thing and grab on." This wisdom has guided her through life’s ups and downs, including the loss of her husband, with whom she shared a unique and humorous love story that began at a radio station—where he fired her shortly after they started dating!
